Futurs Horizons
Duo exhibition with Anna Niskanen at Institut finlandais, Paris
The horizon, where the earth meets the sky, represents the physical boundary of our sight, but also the edge of our known world. It is a line of contemplation and anticipation, inviting us to imagine what lies beyond. In the same way, the exhibition examines various points of intersection: that between art and science, the known and the unknown, as well as human beings and our environment.
Both artists push the limits of their mediums to reveal the vastness beyond what we can perceive. Highlighting our invisible connections to other living beings - through air, soil and sunlight - they awaken us to the presence of an unseen world. Given that our perception shapes our reality, by enlarging it, the artworks challenge us to question and surpass our existing knowledge and beliefs, to be in tune with the hidden processes that sustain our world. Through embracing the unknown, the exhibition invites us to explore the limitless, promising horizons that are just beyond our reach.
L’horizon, là où la terre rencontre le ciel, représente à la fois la limite physique de notre vision et la frontière de notre monde tel que nous le connaissons. C’est une ligne de contemplation et d'anticipation, nous invitant à imaginer ce qui se trouve au-delà. Ainsi, cette exposition examine différents points d'intersection entre l'art et la science, le connu et l'inconnu, ainsi que l'être humain et son environnement.
Les deux artistes repoussent les limites de leurs médiums pour révéler l'immensité de ce qui est au-delà de notre perception. En soulignant nos liens imperceptibles avec les autres êtres vivants à travers l'air, le sol et la lumière du soleil, elles nous éveillent à la présence d'un monde invisible. Puisque notre perception façonne notre réalité, en l'élargissant, les œuvres nous invitent à remettre en question et à dépasser nos croyances et connaissances existantes, afin d’être à l’écoute des processus cachés qui maintiennent notre monde. En embrassant l’inconnu, cette exposition nous invite à explorer les horizons illimités et prometteurs qui se trouvent juste au-delà de notre portée.
