Notes notes not completed sentences
Artist book, 2015
The book starts with a prologue in the form of a map: a garden grows out of its words. Then, a table of contemps: rooms, games, sections and types.
Notes notes not completed sentences is about arranging thoughts in space, about orientation between here and there, between planets, as well as the planting of words in an imaginary garden. Formally speaking, it is about dynamic word (re)placement and the emergence of text. The novel presents reading as a spatial choreography, an experiential moment between a word and its envisage. It explores the word as fragment, page as space, a point in time and mind – the potentialities of creating not a full sentence, but rather imaginings between a word, a category and a thing.
Each chapter presents reading instructions by listing a category, a colour and a verb, to advise the reader on the current setting. Chapters themselves are organised by element: earth, water, air and fire, the content follows word astrology. Notes notes not completed sentences is a treasure hunt, whilst reading you may be actually be walking in a cloud room or a forest, getting lost in forms too big to comprehend. It is simultaneously a journey through etymology, diary and navigation. Actually, it is also a love story.
